The sun came out for the Stamford Floats at the weekend and well done to all the organisers and those that put a lot of hardwork into the floats.
This footage is a couple of years old now but is the first I’ve seen of it and shows some interesting views. It also includes footage of Burghley House as well as Rutland Water.
After a beautiful day the rain came but after the rain had gone away the early evening turned out lovely. In the picture you have the school cricket pavilion and in the distance you have the stunning school indoor swimming pool.
The Stamford Millstream Group have done a great job clearing the millstream – and if you want to help in maintaining the millstream you can find them on Twitter and/or Facebook. It was a lovely day to wander along Melancholy Walk to the Freeman’s Meadows.
Stamford Christmas Festival & Light Switch On was a success. The Stamford Town Council Christmas Festival & Light Switch on had lots of stalls, entertainment, real life reindeer and even Santa was there!

I love this archive footage from the British Pathé. It lasts just over a minute so worth a watch to show how the town was saved from all the traffic!
